I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving huge earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional face-off, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really going ahead.
